Pubcon Las Vegas
Rebecca Murtagh, President and CEO of Karner Blue Marketing LLC, was among the web marketing “futurists” invited to present at Pubcon Las Vegas, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas
October 15-18, 2012.
Among the first to present on the topic; “Convergence of Social Media and Search” at Pubcon South in Dallas 2010, Rebecca updated her annual talk, to share up-to-the-minute insight to the record-breaking crowd at the 2012 industry conference. Attracting over 2,500 attendees from around the world, the conference featured experts to share the very latest in internet marketing, SEO, social media, web technology, and technologies. Rebecca spoke to SEO’s, marketing executives, entrepreneurs and webmasters around the world about the relationship between Social Media and Search.
Rebecca’s second presentation was based on “Integrating Social Media into the Overall Marketing Plan“. This chat sparked a great deal of conversation about the role social media is playing in marketing plans for brands of all sizes, and how to leverage the latest developments to create strategic social marketing plans in today’s increasingly social economy.
In addition to her presentations, Rebecca offered her time for Pubcon Labs, which enabled 3 attendees to pick her brain, 20 minutes each, about topics important to them.
Digital World Expo

Rebecca Murtagh, President of Karner Blue Marketing packed the penthouse suite provided for 2012, 2nd Annual Digital World Expo session; “LinkedIn and Loaded” presentation about brand and networking opportunities for individuals and companies in the LinkedIn platform. From optimizing profiles, levels of engagement, how to increase visibility and build personal influence, Rebecca shared tips on how to leverage personal profiles and company pages to achieve their goals. The session was attended by HR Executives, Entrepreneurs, Small Business Owners, Consultants and Job-Seekers from around the world.
Rebecca presented a second session, “Google+, Inside and Out” to share introductory to advanced techniques to help attendees from all levels of Google+ usage to understand how to properly create, optimize and properly leverage Google Plus pages, profiles, updates and circles to support their goals. Rebecca covered the relationship between identity, search, circles and other online assets, and how to properly use them for optimum visibility, influence and support in building personal and company brands.
St. Baldrick’s Foundation
Proctors Theatre, Schenectady, NY

Karner Blue Marketing LLC was a proud sponsor of the 2012 St. Baldrick’s Proctors Charity Fundraiser. Offering media relations, social media and promotion efforts in advance of the event, and day-of-event support, we were proud to assist in raising awareness of this worthy cause, dedicated to finding a cure for children’s cancer. Over 122 “shavees” collected pledges as they shaved their heads to show solidarity with children with cancer.
The first year event was a tremendous success, attracted coverage from local television stations, newspapers and bloggers as they surpassed the goal of $25,000 to raise $63,745 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. This event, put together in 10 short weeks was a success due to the dedication of event organizer Mike DeBritz, friends, families and business colleagues throughout the community without the benefit of cash corporate sponsorships. Corporate and individual sponsors are encouraged to get involved early for 2013!

Rebecca Murtagh, CEO and President of Karner Blue Marketing presented at PubCon Paradise in Waikiki, largely attended by professionals from the West Coast, Asia and hospitality professionals working throughout the Hawaiian Islands.
