Rebecca Murtagh Presents at SFIMA Pubcon Conference
SFIMA (South Florida Interactive Marketing Association) partnered with Pubcon, to host a one-day event at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL in May, 2013. Rebecca Murtagh, president and chief strategist of marketing firm Karner Blue Marketing of New York was among a handful of industry experts speaking to attendees about the very latest developments in social media, search and internet marketing.
Rebecca’s session “All Roads Lead to Home” emphasized the strategic value of the website as the ultimate destination for businesses and brands. Rebecca discussed that despite the race to pursue the latest trends in SEO, social media, mobile, usability, Internet marketing and conversion, many brands have lost focus and emphasis of the website as the ultimate destination for all online activity.
The Website as Ultimate Destination for the Brand
This standing-room only session resonated with marketers seeking to cut through the clutter and hype around social media platforms as “destinations”, for brands. Rebecca walked through ten compelling reasons for brands to reset the relationship and treat social platforms as conduits to create relationships that they can nurture and convert more effectively from their own website.
Social Media vs. The Website
Murtagh, referred to her book, ‘Million Dollar Websites: Build a Better Website Using Best Practices of the Web Elite” which she awarded to a few lucky attendees in identifying ten reasons why the website (rather than social media) should always be considered the ultimate destination for customer relationships, list-building, e-commerce, conversion and more to a standing-room only group of internet marketers.
